How to Set Up Votifier for Your Hytale Server

What Votifier does

When a player votes for your server on HytaleLobby, the vote is counted on the website. Votifier is the small plugin on your own server that listens for those votes and can run a reward when one arrives, such as in-game currency, crate keys or experience. Without it, voting still works and still counts for your ranking; you just cannot reward the player automatically.

v1 or v2?

HytaleLobby supports both Votifier protocols, and you choose one in your server settings:

• v1 (classic, RSA). The plugin gives you a public key and HytaleLobby encrypts each vote with it.
• v2 (NuVotifier, token). You and HytaleLobby share a secret token and every vote is signed with it. If your plugin supports v2, it is the better choice.

Connect your server in five steps

1. Install a Votifier plugin on your server. We recommend HyVotifier on CurseForge, but any plugin that speaks v1 or v2 works. Follow the plugin’s own instructions to install and start it.
2. Open your dashboard, edit your server and switch on Votifier.
3. Choose the protocol. For v1, paste the RSA public key from your plugin. For v2, press the generate button to create a token, then add it to your plugin’s tokens.yml using the service name HytaleLobby.com as the key.
4. Enter the Votifier address (the host players’ votes should be sent to) and the port your plugin listens on. The classic Votifier port is 8192; use whatever your plugin is set to.
5. Save, then cast a test vote on your own server page and confirm the reward arrives.

If votes do not arrive

• The port is not reachable. The Votifier port must accept connections from the internet. Check your firewall, your hosting panel and, if you self-host, your router’s port forwarding.
• Wrong address or port. The address must resolve to the machine running the plugin, and the port must match the plugin’s configuration.
• Key or token mismatch. If you regenerate a token or key on the plugin, update it in your HytaleLobby settings too.
• Service name. With v2, the key in tokens.yml must be exactly HytaleLobby.com.

Rank on HytaleLobby comes only from player votes this month, and votes reset on the 1st. Reminding players to vote and rewarding them is the most direct way to climb.
